I thought you might be interested in the picture attached that I took this weekend [22/01/2005] to show the difference from the days of the trolleybuses, and as luck would have it a 96 bus passed by.

I took it in the same location that your picture 409 was taken and it still shows the concrete structure that used to house a seat whilst waiting for a bus. There is no seat there now as the bus stop is now further down the hill.

Picture 409 was taken during a photographic visit of the Bexleyheath trolleybuses in the company of Terry Russell. His shot [TR5] of the same stretch of road, captured in colour, is also shown here.

It seems that with the passage of time passenger numbers have remained static and even general road traffic does not seem to have discovered this bit of road.
