Ruskin Road, Carshalton. The stone edges to the grass area by the stop are distinctive - it's the stop
outside the park where the annual 5th November bonfire is held. The bus has just crossed over the ornamental canal leading
down to Carshalton High Street - railings in the centre background are on the bridge. Very little has changed in this area,
except of course for the total absence of any sort of bus service along Ruskin Road, which was originally built specially
for the trams - an early by-pass for Carshalton High Street. Motor-bus 154 was diverted away via Carshalton Beeches in the
late 1980's?
The traction poles were not retained as lamp standards in the Carshalton and Wallington areas, and ordinary bus stops were
erected just prior to conversion. The bus is calling at one of these, whose timetable panel appears to be full of motor bus
conversion posters.
