I've just been looking at your gallery which is excellent. I've always had a keen interest in the old trolleys having been a regular user back and forwards to school in the early 60's. They hold a lot of happy memories for me. Of particular interest are pictures 16 & 17 taken at the top of Delaval Road where the buses that terminated there turned around, using a the pole if I remember rightly, to change the overhead wire track to then go back along Benwell Lane [following a rest break] to the town and beyond. As it happens the person who took picture 15 & 16 would be standing right opposite my home at the time, [1958-1963] 5 Whickham View. All the shops are very familiar to me even J [John] Liddle the "bookeys" where my dad was a regular customer. Because of the happy memories these photos hold for me would it be possible to obtain copies for my own personal use. If there is any fee involved I will obviously cover it.
