It is a shame [following the success of the Huddersfield Event], but the Sandtoft Board has regrettably had to scale down the proposed Reading Commemorative Day scheduled for November 2nd.

This is due to the fact that November days are hardly renowned for good weather, and that most of the possible Reading vehicles cannot practically be made available for service by then. Some, of course would have to travel some distance to reach Sandtoft in the first place.

The event will still go ahead as a normal running day, and Reading 113 will operate, all being well. The main event will be rescheduled for a weekend close to July 18th 2006, ie. 70 years after the system opened. This will provide a [hopefully] better day for weather and give the owners more time to bring their vehicles up to scratch.
