The poster is from the London Transport Museum Collection and entices tram passengers to continue their journey onto Kingston by trolleybus. Whether many did is questionable. Today, tram passengers arriving at Wimbledon probably complete their journey by South Western Trains.

Half a century later and trams are back in Wimbledon. Here we see one that has just left platform 10 as viewed from the car park above the station. It would be nice to photograph in the same picture a tram and a passing South Western electric on the adjacent tracks, but a long wait would probably be necessary.

It seems odd to see the various electrical components open to the elements, probably excellent for maintenance access but doubts remain that the casings will see out the life of the tram.
